Project Name: Broad Rock Elementary School
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Project Details
Scope of Work: Cameron Building Envelope Specialists installed
spray polyurethane foam air barrier systems on both Broad Rock Elementary School and
Oak Grove Elementary School simultaneously to keep up with the tight construction schedule.
Description: The new 90,000 GSF Broad Rock Elementary School will accommodate 650 students on an existing campus that currently has far fewer students. The new 90,000 GSF Oak Grove Elementary School will also accommodate 650 students on the site of the Bellemeade Elementary School, which is a larger property several blocks away and currently an annex to Oak Grove.
The Bellemeade school shares its site with an existing Community Center, whose facilities will be utilized for school purposes during the day in a reciprocal arrangement with the City’s Department of Recreation and Parks. Much care has been taken to design schools that encourage a sense of community among students and faculty. Both Schools are expected to achieve LEED Silver or better.
